How many will my cake serve?
Wedding and party portions are usually 1 x 1 inch for fruit cakes and 1 x 2 inch for sponge cakes and this is what I base any portion recommendations on, Alternatively if your cake is being served at a wedding after dessert you might want to serve a 1” x 1” portion . Please let me know if you would like to serve larger portions than the norm and I can change size accordingly. You can see the portions served for each regular sized cake here (Click here to download your portion guide)
Please note ,when ordering a 3D cake please refer to the cutting guide given at time of collection.
Do you deliver?
The majority of cakes and cupcakes are collected from our premises in Gravesend, Kent. Wedding cakes and stacked celebration cakes can be delivered locally to Gravesend at no extra cost but will incur a delivery fee if outside of a 3 mile radius of our postcode. We have a selection of cupcakes available by post.
How do you Deliver cupcakes without them getting damaged?
Our cupcakes are delivered using a Cakes-Away Postable Cupcake Box with plastic domed inner to protect cakes and cardboard bridge for extra strength.
I have thoroughly tested this system and cupcakes arrive intact! See the video below.
How much notice do you need?
It is never too early to place an order, a small deposit secure the date in the diary and design can always be discussed nearer the date.
The most popular time of year for weddings are Saturday’s April to September, you should think about booking your cake between 3 to 6 months prior to your wedding or celebration, I am occasionally able to accommodate short notice orders on bespoke cakes so it is always worth calling to check. Postal cupcakes and tea party cakes have a minimum of 48 hours notice.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
To secure your bespoke wedding cake booking you will need to provide a £50 deposit with the balance payable 4 weeks prior to the delivery date. For celebration cakes under £100 a £20 deposit is required at the time of booking with balance on collection. Tea party cakes and postal cupcakes require payment in full at time of booking. Payment is made either via cash or bank transfer.
What if I need to cancel my order?
In the event of cancellation any deposit is non-refundable. If the wedding/celebration is cancelled once final payment has been paid then a percentage of the total less deposit will be returned unless the actual cake has been made. If your event needs to be postponed I will if available transfer any payments over but if not available then you need to refer to cancellations above.
